The ideal candidate should have the following skills, experience and knowledge:
- Commitment to the aims and objectives of CIVICUS
- A post graduate qualification in Development Studies or related field;
- At least 5 years of experience working within civil society, preferably in a fundraising role;
- Good knowledge of the international funding environment;
- Demonstrated experience and success in fundraising;
- Experience in liaising with donors;
- Experience with budgeting and financial planning;
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
- Proven ability to develop and sustain good relationships key stakeholders;
- Ability to work effectively in a large multi-cultural team and in fast-paced environment;
- Leadership, initiative and diplomatic skills;
- Limited travelling may be required.
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa. Another location may be considered for the suitable candidate.
Start date: as soon as possible
Duration: initially a 2 year contract will be offered.
Salary offered: USD$58 278.10 per annum
