With less than two months to go until 2010, there are still many issues and events that require our attention before the end of the year.
To start, International Volunteer Day is fast approaching on 5 December 2009. The work of volunteers have a major impact on civil society and we’d like to you’re your thoughts. Please send articles or commentary on the theme of volunteering to editor at civicus.org by 3 December 2009 for inclusion in our special e-civicus edition.
Shortly after this day, the world’s attention will be on Copenhagen for the UN Climate Change Conference from 7-18 December. Failure is not an option for the long term survival of our world. What are your views on this important issue? Let us know by emailing your articles and commentary to editor at civicus.org. Also check out this week’s poll question and help CIVICUS develop its message for this key conference.
Finally, climate change can also impact on people’s basic human rights. Occurring right in the middle of the Copenhagen conference, International Human Rights Day, on 10 December, gives us a chance to consider just what it takes to ensure Human Rights for All. e-CIVICUS will have a special issue to mark this day. Please send your articles to editor at civicus.org by 8 December
